Este grupo tiene como principales objetivos desarrollar la acústica en el país, desarrollar investigación aplicada en acústica y vibraciones tanto para la realidad nacional como mundial, incentivar a los estudiantes de pregrado y post grado para que involucren en la investigación en acústica y vibraciones, plantear proyectos conjuntos con colegas extranjeros y apoyar a la industria nacional. Su coordinador recibió un fellowship de la Audio Engineering Society en el 2012.
