Item type:Publication, Screening for aberrant school performances in high-stakes assessments using in influential analysis(Inderscience Publishers, 2020-01-01)A method is proposed to screen for aberrant school performances in large-scale, high-stakes assessments using influential analysis under a Bayesian approach. Proportions of low and high achievers within a school were modelled via the beta inflated mean regression model (Bayes and Valdivieso, 2016) using school performances in previous years as predictors. The general measure of ϕ-divergence proposed by Peng and Dey (1995) was used to determine aberrancy. A simulation study revealed that the method could recover previously distorted school performances as aberrant. The proposed technique was applied to a Peruvian national reading assessment in grade 4th of primary education for which the government provided a school performance incentive bonus.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, An introduction to data envelopment analysis(Springer Science+Business Media, 2021-12-11)Following the seminal work of Farrell (1957), Charnes et al. (1978) introduced DEA as a deterministic and nonparametric efficiency evaluation tool. DEA is a linear programming-based technique that has been widely accepted as a competing methodology to evaluate the relative efficiency of entities or decision-making units, DMUs (Charles et al., 2016, 2018; Tsolas et al., 2020). DEA is a data-oriented technique (Zhu, 2020) that is used to construct an empirical production frontier to measure efficiency. Note that the original DEA program of Charnes et al. (1978) is based on the CRS specification of technology and is used to measure the technical and scale efficiency of DMUs. However, Banker et al. (1984) extended this program to the case of VRS to estimate purely technical efficiency. Over the past three decades, DEA has been widely used to evaluate the relative efficiency of production firms, the nature of the returns-to-scale, and the productivity changes. The DEA literature has seen a wide variety of applications across a plethora of domains, having become a powerful management science tool (Charles et al., 2018). In this chapter, we briefly review the fundamental concepts in DEA, along with the basic technologies and programs.1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The results of this analysis are important inputs to simulations of liquid argon neutrino experiments such as the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment and the Short Baseline Neutrino program at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. They will be employed to improve the modeling of final state interactions within neutrino event generators used by these experiments, as well as the modeling of <e:math xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <e:msup> <e:mi>?</e:mi> <e:mo>+</e:mo> </e:msup> </e:math> -argon secondary interactions within the liquid argon.
